International Day of Education at the French International School (Kyiv)

The International Day of Education is a special holiday for educators of Ukraine, considering the role of education in supporting the humanistic values and preserving peace. On January 24, 2024, the French International School, in close cooperation with the UNESCO family of Ukraine, held the event “The Importance of Education in Wartime: Sharing Experiences and Strategies”. This UNESCO Associated School invited representatives of the National Commission for UNESCO, the President and staff of the UNESCO Center of the 2nd category “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” Stanislav Dovgyi, the teachers of the UNESCO Chair on Science Education of the Drahomanov Ukrainian State University, colleagues form the NGO “Democracy through Culture”, etc. The event was a great opportunity to learn about the experience of displaced (including military) educational institutions, to spend time communicating with school students ‒ talented youth actively and effectively involved in science education, international projects, national olympiads and competitions of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
